Reds give Dale the Boxing Day blues.

Harriers continued the festivities at Aggborough today with the comprehensive disposal of a Rochdale side who look to be on the way to the bottom of the table.

Straight from the kick off we went for the jugular with some early probing of Dales defence and within four minutes we had taken the lead.

Richie Appleby's powerhouse drive was heading for goal but took a slight deflection into the path of pony tailed Bo Henriksen whose daisy cutter bobbled into the goal past Banks in the Rochdale goal.

There were calls for offside by the Dale fans and players but they were swept aside by Mr Cooper of Walsall.

After the match Oliver told the press that he had un-intentionally played him onside.

Harriers were rampant after the goal and came close to increasing the lead many times but as the minutes ticked by and the goal didn't appear Rochdale seemed to gain in confidence.

It came as no surprise when they levelled the scores through a goal from Michael Oliver.

He had already missed two attempts to score but made no mistake with a third when his header flew past Brockie into the top corner.

The Reds suddenly bucked up their ideas once they realised they were about to throw it all away and a minute before the end of the half Bo grabbed his second when, with his back to goal, he turned to fire a shot past the 'not quite as good as his namesake' Banks.

HT. 2-1

Six minutes after the re-start and the game was as good as over for Dale.

Mark Blake was well placed at the far post to head Danny Williams corner into the back of the net for his fourth goal of the season.

Rochdale started to fall apart and with a few niggling fouls going in so did the Ref.
Mr Cooper had received a new set of coloured cards for Christmas and he felt that now was a good time to show them off.

In the space of five minutes he had shown four Dale players and one Red his new cards.

It was hard to see what they were all for, some seem deserved and some didn't.

We could have increased the lead many times over after that through Bo and Larkin who were both finding so much space behind the Rochdale defence.

Dean Bennett was finding space too and he came close when he capitalised on a mix up between the keeper and a defender to rob them of the ball, but finding his angle too narrow and both Henriksen and Larkin both being marked, intelligently played the ball into space just beyond them but Henriksen could not get there in time.

It was only minutes later though that Deano grabbed his sixth goal in six games when he easily beat his man to place a perfect shot into the bottom corner of Banks' net.

A fine win and one that should set us up nicely for the visit of Hull on Saturday.

I can't see that one being as easy though.

FT. 4-1
