Last minute goals saves blushes

Last minute goals from Bo Henriksen and Andy Corbett saved the Harriers from further blushes at St Georges Lane this afternoon.

Right from the kick off we looked second best and this continued until Bo Henriksen came on mid way through the second half.

Worcesters first goal came after an un-characteristic mistake from Stuart Brock when he mis-kicked a clearance straight at Craig Hinton.  The ball fell straight to the feet of Adam Webster who had the easiest of tap ins into an empty net.

The Harriers were again playing well below what we know they are capable of and it's very worrying for the fans who are left wondering if they will be able to raise their game for the visit of Cheltenham next week.  If not I can see us getting hammered.

Today the fault didn't lie just with the defence.  It lay in all areas of the team.

The midfield pairing of Hinton and Ayres just isn't working.  Parrish is yet to produce the kind of play that we saw from Richie Appleby last season and Dean Bennett is yet to produce the kind of form that Dean Bennett can.

The second half was very similar to the first and Worcester grabbed their second goal after 60 minutes.  Jamie Edwards picked the ball up on the edge of the area and left our defence in his wake as he took the ball almost to the bye line and then chipped a shot over Brockies head and into the far corner of the net.  Take nothing from City, it was a cracking goal but where were we?

Straight after Henriksen came on we started to play with a bit more purpose but it still wasn't what the Harriers faithful have come to expect.  The midfield was still struggling to come up with anything different but at least Bo was getting into places to take advantage when the time came.

That came just as the fan's were starting to stream out.  First Bo pounced on a cross from Ian Joy to slip the ball past the City keeper then just 60 seconds later Bo provided Andy Corbett with the ball to level the scores.

At the end of the day 'It's just a friendly' but it was still dire.

Harriers:
Brock, Smith (Doyle), Joy, Ayres, Hinton, Williams, Bennett, Ducros (Shilton), Broughton (Corbett), Lewis (Henriksen), Parrish.

Score: 2-2    Att: 650
