Danny, Chester bound

Danny Williams, the Harriers midfield general, has taken the first steps in his move away from Aggborough with a four week loan spell at Conference side Chester City.

Danny Williams This looks to be part of the agreement that saw Ian Foster take the opposite journey last week when he returned to Aggie on a one month loan from the Deva.  A rumour doing the rounds at the moment is that Foster will sign a permanent deal once his loan period is up and we will then receive £25,000 as payment for Danny's move being made permanent.  True or not?

Danny first came to the Harriers in July 2001 from Wrexham and became an instant hit with Harriers fans but late last year problems set in with his wife reputedly unhappy in Kidderminster and nagging Danny for a return back home.  This seemed to have been sorted out, but only temporarily, because the same problem has arisen again.  This, coupled with the imminent end of his contract, seems to have forced the club to let him go now with the hope a small transfer fee possible.

In his time here Danny has become famous for his pile driver free kicks with his best known coming at Cheltenham at the start of this season.

One player who's name has been mentioned as a possible replacement is the Walsall midfielder, Darren Wrack.  A good choice but he is a first team player at the Bescot and so there will more than likely be a fee involved but at Chester Danny will probably take the place of another ex Harrier, Ben Davies.  He is now out of favour there and seeing what has been going on lately might soon be back here!!
