Lee Ayres leaves Aggie

Another player left Aggborough today in a mini clearout to make way for some new players.  Jan Molby has plans to bring in a 'new leader of men' in the same mould as Mark Blake and also a new striker, thought to be Jesper Christiansen from Danish side, Odense Boldklub.

Lee Ayres To make way for these new faces todays victim was defender Lee Ayres.

He has been at Aggborough for quite a while now, originally playing in the Youth team but then signing a two year contract in May 2001.  At the end of that contract he, unusually, signed for a further six months in the summer of 2003.

He made his debut against Preston NE in the Worthington Cup in 2001 but broke his foot in a game at Hull City a few weeks later.  It wasn't until towards the end of that season that he started to make his comeback to become a regular during the following season.

At the start of this new term, 03-04, he was completely out of fashion and joined newly promoted Conference side, Tamworth, on loan.  He is now expected to join them permanently.

In his time here he made 45 appearances scoring five goals in the process.
