Gadsby goes hunting in the Forest

One of the players released by Jan Molby at the end of the season has joined Gloucestershire side Forest Green Rovers.

Matt Gadsby Matt Gadsby, who originally joined the Harriers at the start of last season, was recommended to the club by Wayne Hatswell.  He is a former FGR player and paved the way for Matt to join them.

During his time at Aggborough Matt failed to make a really big impression but had the odd moment when he raised the interest of the fans.  The one that will be uppermost in most fans minds will be in the final game of the season when we beat Boston 2-0 and Gadders went on a scintillating run to the edge of the box, beating three Boston players, before laying the ball off for John Williams to slot home.

In all he played 36 games for us, scoring two goals in the process.

Also joining FGR today was the ex Chester & Hereford striker Mark Beesley.  He has been mentioned in passing by fans as a possible target for us.  At 23 he seems a good aquisition by Forest Green.

Also on the move yesterday was ex loanee Andy White.  He came here on loan from Mansfield over the Christmas period and won over many fans with his strength up front.  He only scored once for us but you always felt there were more goals in him.

Sadly we failed to move quickly enough to sign him up once Mansfield released him and he has now joined 1st Division side Crewe on a one year contract.
