Less than a month to go now until the end of this awful season and after last weeks rubbish performance at Wycombe it can't come a moment too soon.  Lets get these last few games out of the way and play with as much respect as we can then start afresh in the Conference next season.

I'm resigned to the fact that we're going down and I think that most sensible fans are too.  Yes, we did have a good run of six games but we're back to our normal level now and the current crop of players that we've got have not got enough in the engine room to get us out of it.

Even when we do play well enough to win a game it is never convincing and you can see that when we come up against players of the calibre of Nathan Tyson then our lot just do not know what to do to stop them.

On paper we should be able to get a result against Bury tomorrow but all it needs is one flash of brilliance from the highly rated Colin Kazim-Richards and we'll wilt.

Watkiss has promised wholesale changes by dropping Wayne Hatswell in favour of Billy Jones and Bertie Cozic making way for Simon Russell.  The idea of dropping a dis-enchanted Hats I can follow but not so much the recall of Simon Russell who reminds me a lot of Dean Bennett.  He can run at the opposition all day but seems to have a problem once he gets past them.

Hopefully his time on the bench will have enabled him to see where his faults lie and to do something about them.

Blair Sturrock is also pencilled in for a recall at the expense of Chris Beardsley and that also wouldn't be a bad move with Beardo looking knackered by the end of recent games and even by halftime last week he looked out of it.

Iyseden Christie won't be taking part in any games from now on after getting a rush of blood to the bum in a clash with the Wycombe keeper on Saturday and has had a load of stitches to a nasty gash.  There are no other injuries to speak of and no suspensions either so Lee Jenkins will be back in the frame.

Bury have a couple of injuries in their squad.  Matthew Barrass will probably retire at the end of this season due to continuing problems with his knees.  Jon Newby has undergone a scan for an Achilles problem, Colin Woodthorpe is struggling with an inflamed back and Lee Unsworth is making progress with a groin injury.

They are also safe from relegation now so won't have much to play for, just pride, but we still can't look on this as an easy game.  No game is easy for us, we like it that way.
