Match preview Vs Wrexham AFC - FA Trophy 1st rd

gif

Date: 11-12-10gif Venue: Racecourse Groundgif Kick off: 15:00hrs
Mark Creighton The Harriers hopes of getting to play a game for the first Saturday in three looks to be in extreme doubt with the continuation of this cold snap.  Wrexham will be having a pitch inspection at 11.00am tomorrow (Saturday) morning but the frost has taken a deep hold down one side of the ground that no thaw would be able to touch.

If the game does go ahead then it's welcome to the FA Trophy 2010.

We'll be without Mike Williams for the game with him due to undergo minor surgery to a swelling on his instep.  Although he can play with injections it's likely he wouldn't be risked with Aaron Griffiths fully capable of taking over.  Recent signing, striker Jamille Matt, is cup tied and will not be able to play.

The rest of the squad are fit and raring to go though and get our Trophy campaign on the road with a win at improving Wrexham.  They too should have an almost fully fit squad to choose from with only Declan Walker out through injury but they will also have one missing through suspension.

Andy Mangan was sent off against Mansfield a few weeks back but has yet to serve any of his three match ban because of the weather.  His suspension starts now and ironically a former, recently departed Harrier will take his place in the line-up to face us.

Marc Williams, brother of Mike, would have been hoping to be up against his brother but as mentioned earlier that won't be the case this time.  There will also be another Harrier coming up against his old club because Wrexham have taken Mark Creighton (left) on loan from Oxford Utd with an option to sign him in the New Year.

This will be our last chance this season to make a progression in a cup tournament of any kind.  We're already out of the FA Cup and the 'prestigious' Worcester Senior Cup so we have to make sure we get through this one.  We do have the chance of a second attempt in a replay if we can only gain a draw but it'd be nice to do it first time of asking.
