Our opening goal came from Tom Marshall who, this time last year, was wearing the red shirts of Tamworth. He has just come back into the side after dropping out of favour and getting sent out on loan to Brackley. He seems to have come back to us at just the right time and adds some missing height to our defence and also the ability to pop up with the unexpected goal.
Two of the goals on Saturday came from Jack Byrne and sandwiched in the middle was another great strike from Anthony Malbon to add to the cracker he scored at Telford a week ago. The whole team played well at Braintree and it wouldn't be far out to say the same team will line-up tomorrow.
Tamworth did us a big favour on Saturday when they held fellow play-off chasers Grimsby Town to a goal less draw at Blundell Park. Grimsby tried their best to break them down but the Lambs keeper, Jonathan Hedge must have been in fine form to keep out all eighteen shots on goal from the Mariners.
Tamworth have a couple of ex Harriers in their ranks but only Duane Courtney (left) is likely to play due to Iyseden Christie being a long term injury. The talismanic former Harriers is their leading scorer with eleven goals.
Games against our hosts always tend to be low scoring games and usually end as draws. I don't expect it to be any different tomorrow but I think we'll grab another well deserved win on the road.
