Perhaps it's the sort of thing KHIST could also lobby on fans' behalf?

We had that for an alleyway by us and it took a lot of persuading, and videos, to convince them there wasn't enough lighting. All sorted now though.
I did try to explain the fact, that at night, when there are dozens of fans, no light from the nearest lamppost shines on the steps. Might try to do a video tonight.....

We did a video of a woman walking through the alley at night. She vanished in the middle.

We then repeated that with her carrying a torch. She was visible all the way through. That's what swung it in our favour.

It’s awful, have to use the torch on the phone, don’t remember the old bridge being this bad? Maybe because of how high it is you don’t get the light from the station now

Having used it for the Telford game I can only imagine how precarious it could be for someone less steady on their feet. Surely a few sensor lights at the very least could be put in place?

I suspect more of the LED lights currently there might 'blast' the bedrooms of the houses either side of the footpath down to the road.
Judging by the state of the new development to the right we might have to wait until the houses fall down for more lights......be about this time next year.

Having used the footbridge on Saturday, I would suggest the 'easy' answer is to change the existing street lights either end of the bridge, so as the angle of illumination can cover the steps OR add another light on the poles to cover the steps. Not an expensive solution, I would have thought.

Email received from Worcestershire County Council this morning;
Our contractors have visited the site of your complaint and if possible, have rectified the problem. It maybe, however, that additional works are needed, but please be assured that it will be attended to in due course.

Excellent.

Contractors went. They might have done something which might or might not have rectified the probem. If they haven't rectified the problem, they might have to go back. Sometime.

Seriously, they did, at least, go!

If I hear anything I will post on here.

a good test of it would be someone local using it at night and reporting to the council, or the next home game of which I shall be using it to head back to the motor.

It will be light at 10.00 p.m. by the time we play our next home match! (Perhaps a slight exaggeration.)

Walked over the bridge last night and the nearest lamp is directed much better onto the bottom steps towards the road away from the ground.

But its the first step off the bridge section that is the issue, the bottom steps aren't as important. IMO

Personally I thought it was overall a marked improvement.

As said above, the issue is really going down onto the first step from the top, and it is only really a danger when there are people ahead, blocking the light from the lamp.
