HarrierN2 wrote: Wed Feb 04, 2026 11:32 am AMS has been a legend for us, but do people really think he'll score goals for us if played between now and the end of the season? What are his stats for this season???
As it stands, I would play AMS and Waldron together up top, Hemmo wide right but roaming inwards to play off them both. Effectively leaving space for Foulkes to push up in the gap that's left. Devine in his usual position. Cooper and Davis as that base in midfield. Reynolds, sadly, off the bench or to start in place of Hemmo. Goals would come.

With AMS, thesedays it's not the goals he scores, it's the goals he creates for others. Space he creates. Defenders he manages to occupy. I would look to replace him in the long term, but it's no coincidence the rejuvenation in December came with AMS starting regularly.
None of our strikers have scored a goal since 29th November and that was Gyasi. Sorry but AMS brings nothing to the table anymore. Defenders must love playing against him as he is so static and Hemmings has shown nothing since he came back to warrant an extension to his loan deal. Missed another great chance Tuesday night. The difference between us and the other top teams is the goals scored. The difference is frightening.

This maybe unpopular but if I was Murray, based on that complete horror show I'd be dropping Obi on Saturday. Cost us three goals. Unnaceptable. Shame as been good up until now but cant be having an off day like that, an utter disaster. Stick Kandola in there with Devine and play Seb out on the left

We played 4 at the back all game right? The commentators said we 'changed to a back 4' at half time but from what i could see on the telly we had PK and Obi between Foulkes and either Hall or Devine i couldn't tell which.

For me that back two lacks pace and they time and again drew out the full back and sent a runner from deep over the top. This played into their hands with such a high line. We conceded at least 6 chances by doing this. Think back to the Bedford game, we did exactly the same. If it wasn't for dibble sweeping we'd have a net goal difference of -10 over the two games and that's no exaggeration.

I don't mind Obi and PK but they need a Richards, Innocent, Evans, Devine et al along side them and to lose this ridiculous high line.

AM loves his xG, he must be looking at the xGA and look to change something.

Yep, all the warning signs were there at Bedford, they just weren’t as clinical as Macc.

That’s why I partly blame the pitches - we don’t normally look that vulnerable?

Did you go to Halifax? Obi was outstanding. Definitely doesn’t need dropping although I agree Cam needs to play but in midfield

I go to MOST games Tamworth! I've seen Obi play very well over the course of the season but theres having a poor game and there is having an ABSOLUTE MARE perhaps he needs 'resting'/dropping for a game for his own sake rather than ours?
I did say he had 'been good up until now' but clearly we are being a little sloppy in our performances as Murray has pointed out so perhaps a few need dropping as a reminder. Reynolds has been poor for three league games so he would be another who I'd not be suprised he was relegated to the bench.
Players need to step up and keep their eye on the ball, simple.

Obi's always going to be a player who couples brilliant performances with bad mistakes. I wouldn't drop him.

Hopefully he got a shed load of the mistakes out in one go against Macclesfield.

I would prefer a defender to be reliable first & foremost, Obi isn't.

Shouldn't Bird be available by now?

Everybody apart from Joe was dreadful at Macclesfield the other night. Not only has Obi been excellent for most of this season he has also scored many a crucial goal. Yes we know he has an error in his game but that’s why he isn’t playing in the league. To say drop him is ridiculous.

We all know Obi has a clanger in him, overall though he has been a major positive this season, shouldn't be dropped based on one bad game when the team as a whole underperformed. Forthcoming opponents will have taken note alas and I know what I would be doing if I were them when our defence pushes up.

To my point though, i dont think Obi had an absolute mare Tony, you just play to your players strengths and in a back 4 with a high line isnt. He isnt great on the ball either and it just completely exposed him.

Agree to not drop him. Hopefully back to a back 3 Saturday with Evans in and we'll see a different player IMO.

I watched Devine try to play LCB in the last 10 minutes in most preseason friendlies, he is definitely not the answer there

at fault for 3 goals is a mare.
hopefulty like someone has said they get it out their system. as has been good
sometimes it maybe best to take someone out of the firing line after such a game for a game or two?

Who are we going to play there if we take him out of the firing line? Maybe AMS 😁

Id ideally like us to sign a LCB as cover for Evans
Kandola could slot there, dependable player. Thats IF we sign a player in for Evans to cover
Not much cover at CB in all honesty aside from KK
AMS could do a Gash and revert to CB in his twilight years who knows haha
