Match preview Vs Weymouth

gif

Date: 17-01-09gif Venue: Aggboroughgif Kick off: 15:00hrs
Weymouth will be playing their first game this year when they visit Aggborough tomorrow.  They have been badly hit by the poor weather conditions in recent weeks and their last game was a 1-0 defeat to local rivals Torquay Utd.

Apart from a practice game against Bournemouth yesterday they have been left kicking their heels but at least they've been able to get the injury list down.  They had Stephen Reed down with a virus but he's fully recovered now and the only sick room resident left is Jordan Collins with a heavy cold.

We're injury free too and everyone came through the eight goal thriller at Ilkeston un-scathed.  That 5-3 win should set us up nicely for the Weymouth game as long as our defence get's in a bit better shape.  We don't want three goals scored against us too often.

Both sides have been using the January transfer window to make some squad changes.  In our case we're using it to lay the ground for new faces with the exit of Michael McGrath on Wednesday and there could be more by this time next week.  Stefan Moore has agreed to stay for the remainder of the season and that could have been influenced by his impressive showing at Ilkeston.

Weymouth, on the other hand, have been having a clear out to save money.  With their club in financial melt down and the takeover talks being put on the back burner once more they have seen Michael Malcolm sign for Crawley permanently and Adam Bygrave to Histon.  They are also trying to keep hold of Stuart Beavon with Cambridge and Bournemouth fighting over him and Anton Robinson is also thought to be on his way out.

They have made one signing with Lee Phillips coming in on loan from Rushden.  He's expected to make his debut for them this weekend.

Back to the game and I know we always seem to get caught out at home to Weymouth but I reckon we'll be a little bit wise to them now and a little bit too good for them too.  It's a winner.
