Oh, hold on a minute. They have a bigger squad than us so what's all that about then?
Yesterday they bought another player in to swell the numbers with defender Hayden Hollis arriving on loan from Notts County. Last Friday Paul Johnson arrived from Hartlepool for the remainder of the season to bring their squad numbers up to twenty three, two more than us.
Darlington also have the infamous Drewe Broughton now playing for them and in three games so far he has yet to be sent off. He has collected a booking but no goals either.
The last time he played against us was when Alfreton came to Aggborough earlier in the season and he lived up to his reputation with a vicious elbow to Tom Marshalls face that left the defender in agony, a melee between all the players and Broughton getting off scott free by the lenient referee. He did score their only goal though.
A week later and Drewe had been sacked by Alfreton after getting sent off in two successive games for dangerous fouls on opposing victims.
Now he plays for Darlington after coming to their rescue by offering his services to them 'out of the goodness of his heart'. Could be interesting to see how he reacts but it's to be hoped that this time he won't be such an arse.
They will have a few players missing for them tomorrow. Scott Harrison is out with a back injury along with Graeme Lee (knee), Marc Bridge-Wilkinson (groin) and Dale Hopson (hernia).
We should be injury free once again with just Danny Lewis and Tom Sharpe out long term. Danny is on the way back from his cruciate operation but Tom will be having his this coming Sunday and to help pay for this there will be a collection for him at halftime.
Just before the Tamworth game on Tuesday Lee Hendrie left the club to join Chasetown. It had been expected after his altercation with a Telford fan the other week that lead to him being pulled off by his team mates and the Telford stewards.
We'll be hoping to repeat our scoring exploits that returned at Braintree last Saturday but then went missing once more at Tamworth. We had so much possession in the game yet only managed two direct shots on goal and rarely troubled the Tamworth keeper. We're obviously missing Jamille Matt at times but at others we seem to be able to score some great goals if given a chance.
Let's hope that chance comes tomorrow and with it to climb back up towards the play off places.
