Exactly why I was sad to see Zak goCOYRedder wrote: Thu Feb 19, 2026 8:29 amTotally agree. But this requires two types in your team. Fit and mobile (young?) forwards who constantly make the runs to break the line and have the nous to time them properly. Midfielders who spot the runs and can make the pass. AM seems to have built a side of workers without much inspiration in them. (I certainly don't feel particularly inspired by our football even if we win.) I said earlier in the season that AM should be coaching diagonal through balls and runs but now I'm not sure he has the players capable of delivering it.Paulwj wrote: Thu Feb 19, 2026 7:37 am Totally agree we rarely get more than one in the box marked by 3 or 4 often massive defenders .
As for through balls the type Maz and Zac slotted through on the diagonal last season to Hemmings and others.
Rare as hens teeth this season .

Agree with the ZB points, thought he was excellant from Janaury last year for us. Really come into his own.
Murray went some way in adding creativity in the summer with Clarke (from deep) - not worked out, Mooney - crocked and Adigun - not settled.
Sadly the latter two havent been replaced.
From the interview I can see Bird heading out on loan for a month for fitness. Interesting Murray mentioned Seb rivaling Walker for a shirt, and Hemmo wasnt bought into that. Wonder if he will stat Seb on Saturday.

Don't go forgetting that Arthur Gnahoua now plays for Southport and he's already scored more than any of our strikers.
9 goals compared to AMS's and King Kurt the Unused's 4 or (midfielder) Diggers 6.
Food for thought?

Agree on Kane Harry but Foden is a creative force, he would provide the link. Wonder if we can grab him on loan now City have signed that lad from Bournemouth?!

Horrendous game.
Baffling starting 11, basically 0 chances created all game with all the ball. Their goal showed up all of our wide players.
Strange decision making in the 2nd half. Ryley was having a good game hook him for Kam, Devine was actually pushing forward trying to make on his man and run from deep, hook him.
That entire game we basically created nothing bar set pieces. The opposition has figured us out they did ages ago and Murray is blind to it. All they have to do it sit deep stand off Walker as he is our only tactic and wait for him to hit the cross out of play

How surprised are you now ? Harriers are/were dreadful, play offs are looking a doubt now on current form.Mirage Molby wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 12:35 pmI disagree, there can’t be much of a better opportunity to get things back on track. Goalscoring remains an issue, but I’d be surprised if we don’t win this one.
I wonder if he’ll stick with Walker or try something different.

Seems like we’re stuck in a ‘mode’ the last few games. It’s industrious but offers very little entertainment value.
If Murray claims in his post match (again) we played them off the park I’ll laugh.
If it wasn’t for our work rate we’d be a terrible team. It’s just so predictable.
How many set pieces including corners did we have? 10+? We hardly ever get the ball first and if we do it’s a misjudged header that goes nowhere near the goal.
Unless we pull our finger out we are going to finish somewhere 5th - 10th. There’s still a realistic prospect of finishing outside the playoffs.
I’d love to expect something different on Tuesday but what are the chances Marine come to spoil, sit back and wait for our predictable patterns of play? It’s like bloody Groundhog Day.
